From a recent trip to Ottawa. Captured a slew of in flight shots but worked hard on environmental and various perch images. MKIII, 1/1000, f/2.8, ISO 800, 200mm, early evening

Mike, this is one of best GGO's I have seen posted here and most all are very good.
The evening light puts it over the top.
Is this really at 2.8?
A lot of depth if that is the case.
Very nice.

Great light, great action. The snow adds another dimension that takes the image to another level. I especially like the light on the tip of the GGO's left foot.

Awesome shot! Love the light and the perch on this one.

There is quite a bit of color noise in the dark part of the BG, maybe another pass of NR on the BG only? I don't see it on the bird so sharpness reduction won't be a problem.

Certainly is red in colour and the post looks on fire, nice afternoon light and liking the snow as well. I'm left wondering though if the color is a bit strong overall which may also contribute to the strong color noise in the background

Love the sharpness, the dynamic pose, and the snowy BG. I'm wondering whether the red is a bit much from PP? How does it look compared to your recollection of the scene?

Wow. Terrific take-off pose as well as perch, I like sweet light & great mood of this capture. You handled the challenging situations very well. As Evan's stated, another round of color NR on the BG would be recommended. Thanks for sharing this great shot.

nice take off pose and the snow adds to drama, there is quite bit of color noise in the image. I would tone down the red channel on the perch.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I will address the noise, went back and looked at he raw file and the perch that is reddish to start with pretty much looks as depicted here but I will tone it down a tad anyways.
