Nice one JIm. Beautiful eye contact and wing position. The light is harsh but you made the best of it but at least getting it more or less behind you, and the bird obliged.

Beautiful image, excellent timing and focus, I love the pose.
I think however the image processing has been pushed a little too far, the highlights and the shadows are just clipped. There is absolutely no offence intended with this remark I seem to be noticing this more and more with images submitted by USA photographers...... perhaps it is me being out of kilter??:S3:

Interesting comment by Jonathan. Bird is quite contrasty. Tack sharp and I really like the dynamic and symmetrical pose. Quite possibly photo is ff, but if not my preference would be to lose a slice of nest by adding a bit to sides and top.
