We found this male Rufous-tailed Jacamar sitting on a branch hanging over a road in Tobago where they love to sit while fly-catching. This view does not show the rufous chest and under side of tail but I loved his choice of perches and the distant out of focus background.

Hi Laurie, tack sharp, and just love how the beak follows the line of the perch. I really like how the greens and yellows of the plumage blend into each other, and although posed against a green BG, he still pops nicely. I would neaten up the catchlight in the eye, and hope you have more space on the left. Im finding the tail a touch tight. :w3

Stuart,

No more room, this is how I took it - guess I could add canvas. I usually do not change catchlight unless I used flash - is this something I should do on all photos where I don't get that one round light?

Beautiful feather detail on this 1 and I like the subdued forest light. Great pose and head angle and very pleasing BG
I agree with Stuart about cleaning up the catch light on the front of the eye only. Great job.

Love the detail and pose on this one. White throat has a green/yellow cast to me.

What a beautiful bird and a new species for me.
I love the HA and pose. Excellent comp and IQ.
The green BG on green bird works well here. I especially like the little tufts of grass under the feet.
I see a bit of a yellow/green cast. Easy fix.

A bit of a green caste, but a very nice photo of a beautiful bird.
The catchlight doesn't bother at all, it is natural.
I also like the crop. Well done.
