Taken yesterday,I am now trying to learn how to take flight images,not as easy as thought,more rejects than keeps,cannon 500mm IS L,7D,TRIPOD,cropped,sharpened,touch of saturates,iso350,1/3200s,f5,could have dropped the iso a bit more.comments good or bad.thanks.

Beautiful shot, great IQ, beautiful subject, great BG. I probably would have closed down the aperture a bit. As far as improvement, I might clone out the bright spot in the BG at the top of the frame, straight above the L wing. Great job.

Looks to me like you are learning Chris! Very nice flight capture. I love the BG, detail in the bird is very nice.

Well done on the exposure. Nice and sharp and a lovely pose and bg. Light angle is right on as well. A couple suggestions, which you may already do, are when using a tripod is pick the birds up early as they are coming in. I also like using rear focus for bumping the focus as the bird approaches.
The local bald eagles have been creating some havoc with our barn owls.

I think you've done a wonderful job with this capture. Love the outstretched wings, and the bg is just great!

I don't think dropping the ISO would have done much for you (350 is pretty low). I think your setting are fine here.

This is an excellent shot, Chris! Sweet light, lovely pose and muted BG. Killer. I agree with Miguel re: your settings.

Hi Chris, lovely hunting pose from the owl, and overall, well exposed. I like how the owl is popping from the BG, and a little more NR on the BG wont harm the image.

To have captured this fellow in your frame shows that you are getting things right. To acquire better in flight images is simply practise, practise and more practise. Yes, everyone misses shots too. :w3

Lovely photo, Christopher.
Sharp, nice light, BG and a beautiful Owl.
I like the wingspan and position in the frame.
You would not notice lower iso than 350, the SS is perfect.

Nice shooting angle, great details in the close wing and nice eye contact. The background looks smooth and noise free.
