Ourique, Portugal

had fun with these mid afternoon but not easy to vapture em stacking up like this. I had an idea to get this shot and after a lot of failures got this one. The storks appear to enjoy shoving each other off the pole!

Hi Richard, normally images like this are a composite, so very well done for having the patience on getting all three in the frame. All three with different wing positions, and although your main point was to show how they were 'pushing' each other off the pole, I would remove it - the wire/cable spoils the appearance.

Now show us with four in the frame. :w3

Great capture of these three. Way to have the patience to wait. I agree withStuart, I don't think the poll adds much to the story.

Well planned and executed Richard! I like the three different poses you captured. Repost is an improvement. No visit to Costa Rica this year?

Hi Jim
thanks, CR I wish and anythings possible. Looks like I will stay here in the Montado for up to two years.
Its a long story, had to rescue my son and grandkids from London prices, so I am looking after them here trying to give them a new start. Its great here though the wild is outside the door
I will get back to Playa Negra one day.

Very nice, very different....looks like a sequenced in flight shot, looks nice with the touch of blue sky backdrop as well. Personally I dont mind the pole, but I'd just clone out the wires attached

I thought this was a composite when I looked at the thumbnail. Your patience and perseverance paid off!
Good poses and I am glad you removed the pole.
Is this a big crop? I find the IQ a bit lacking.( top bird)
The cloud and sky really add a nice depth to the image,
Gail

Great idea here, but if you are stacking I would go ahead and give them a more attractive perch to land on :)

Hail, thanks, not too bad a crop about 70% of original, mostly cropped sky from the left. Less detail in that top bird probably down to exposure on that bird.
James - you lost me there...

very cool sequence Richard. I am moving this to OOTB where you can get better feedback on working on the composite, it does look like it needs more sharpening ?

Richard;

Unique capture to get them stacked this way. Good comments from folks above. There is quite a sharpening halo around the top bird which you should be able to clean up easily.

Cheers

Love the frame.
I had been out for some times and did not get chance to see many beautiful images of you and members.
