Kerry, I love the haiku! And the image is perfect. To match the word, "brilliant", I would be tempted to try a bit more saturation on the hummer and see how it looks.

I love the haiku, although technically 'brilliant' is a three syllable word. The way you have rendered the bird as if it were a painting is just right for a haiku poem, too. The abstraction matches the sparse wording. Nicely done.
