Hi Rudi - I've looked at this one a couple of times and I like the idea (in fact I have a similar shot though not converted) and excellent detail with the light hitting the calf. I am just unsure about the conversion, it feels a little dark to me and the streaks in the bg are slightly distracting. So often this type of stuff comes down to personal preference so let's see what the others say.

I like what you were going for with the high contrast metallic look, Rudi.
For me - the piece of BG sticking out needs to be tonally distinct from the elephants.

This is a VERY rough repost where I did a shoddy job of lightening that patch up a bit, and also added some more tonal distinction to the elephant hides with dodge and burn...

Love what you were going for here and with a little tweaking, this is going to be an amazing image. I like Morkel's ideas. I would never have thought about lightening the BG, but it works better, and I like the dodging and burning he has done.
