I like the look and "cool" as in temperature feel to this image. Good choice getting the color behind the tree. I would sharpen the image some more. f/8 at 10mm on the 7D gives you about 2 feet to infinity DOF so there was adequate DOF for FG to BG sharpness.

Nice diagonal leading line with the hill and the looking up point of view accentuates that.
