I think the nature of zebra's coloring and stripes lends to trying different comps. Here's one where I tried basically straight down the barrel. At first I thought having the other zebra perpendicular in the rear was a negative but now after a little cropping, I think it may be a benefit. Taken in Etosha National Park, Namibia. This was late morning and the light was a bit harsh.

C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

Good detail on the blacks and whites so light not a hindrance here Rachel.

I feel the BG Zebra works and would be better then the ground. I would have liked to not seen the legs of the FG Zebra and to do that a lower POV would be required to have done that. Cropping now gets to close to the nose.

Thanks Robert, unfortunately I was as low as I could be in the vehicle but I agree a little bit lower would have been better.

Rachel,

I kind of like zebra in the background. It makes interesting background IMO.

Lovely! The BG zebra is perfect! The bright area between the legs and on the LR corner could be darkened to match the BG in the LL corner and you have perfection!

Hi Rachel, I would suggest going tighter to make those confusing stripes work better. My thinking was similar to Roberts, and so a 16 x9 I think may fit our thinking? Suprised the nose isn't so sharp considering the f stop? Perhaps a hint more sharpening?

Good thinking here Rachel...
I too would have preferred not to have the legs as obviously cut off but at this angle this is a given.
Light well handled. I like Steve's crop suggestion...

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Here's a repost with the 16x9 crop and a little more selective sharpening as suggested by Steve.

Thanks again,
Rachel

Rachel I would just take a sliver off the top & RHS as the is a slight light corner creeping in, likewise bottom right. :S3:

RP works for me - ditto Steve's corner observations :5
