This was at the Venice Rookery this week-end. The night herons were very active and much more visible than usual. Also still a few GBH nesting. Canon 40D, 1/2000, f/5.6, 100-400 mm at 400. I'm thinking I need a little more room at the bottom as I look as this image now. All comments welcome and appreciated.

Not much Cindy Just a little bit Since on leg is up gives the appearance of room Dove the raised wing and fine feather reproduction and detail Not easy composing images with birds on the rookery Love this one !!!! If anything might darken the blacks just a bit !!!

Yes, you are close to clipping the near-foot but this one really made me laugh. The bird's expression is priceless. I love the sharpness, the raised wing, and the perfect EXP.

Thanks, Harold. I think you're right, I do need to take off just a little bit off the bottom.

Very cool pose - almost comical. Great work on exposure and sharpness too.
