Dollarbird, Federation Walk, Gold Coast, Queensland.
Nikon D7000 and 600mm f/4 VR with TC-14E II 1.4x.
Date: 23/01/2013, Time: 3:43:32 PM.
Focus distance: approx 28m
ISO: 200, Aperture: 6.3, Shutter: 1/1000, Exp. Comp.: -0.3, Program: Aperture Priority.
PP crop. Slight Tonal Adjustments and selective multiply layer painted on feather detail with lowered opacity. Selective USM.
Around here these birds are uneasy with close proximity and they favor very high perches. So I was rather happy to make the capture on a lower perch showing off some of the blues and greens.
Cheers Peter.

Really nice colors captured in this guy. Nice pose. I think if it were mine I would crop a bit from the left side, but overall very nice image.

Nice colors and detail. There's a very slight halo near the top of the head and back.

Hi Peter, I havent seen this species before. I like the mixture of blues and greens on him, and he did give you a super pose.

I've never seen one sadly, and I've not seen an image of one out in the open as this is, very nice color portrayed, eye contact and such a nice blue sky backdrop, maybe crop a bit tighter, p[particularly from the top
