2 weeks ago I went to see long tail ducks, it turned into a fun day. I took a lot of shots and it was my first time really trying to shoot BIF it was great practice.

Corey:

Not the easiest fellow to start with for BIF! Sharp, well exposed, like the dangling feet, good comp.

Not the best wing position for me, but for just starting, pretty darn good!

I generally try for at least 1/2000s for BIF, unless they are big and slow like swans, and even then you can sometimes get motion blur, esp. if your panning isn't smooth.

Overall, very nicely done!

Cheers

I think your first attempt worked out very well.
Sharp and well done.

Excellent image, with good exposure, sharp bird, well exposed. Good sense of motion as the bird is taking off.

I like the DOF, showing the feet and the eye contact as well as the dripping water, Corey.
