It was tough to shoot this guy as there was not setup and had to push up our skills of video game to get a clean shot as clear as possible. Other hummies around were not allowing it to sit even for a while.

Canon 5D Mark II.
Canon 500F4 with 1.4X TC.
ISO 400. -0.33 ev.
F - 8.
Shutter Speed - 1/250.
No flash.
White Balance - Daylight.

Wow, what a beautiful bird. I know it's hard to get a clean shot in this natural environment. I wonder if the focus was more on the front flower stocks as they seem to be sharper. If it were me, I'd have shot this at F 5.6 to isolate the bird and get higher speed and less blur on the wing. Nice shot!

For my tastes with birds like this I like the strong indication of wing movement, seems only natural in my opinion. In a perfect world having the flower the bird is feeding from isolated from the larger pink one behind would be ideal, but that's asking a lot for a nartural non set up shot. I might be inclined to add a touch more sharpening to just the head as well and maybe darken the pupil a little
