Nice to see something a little different!

I like the idea but would prefer bird a little less centered. I think this is a case where putting the eye near the rule of thirds intersection would work well.
Red spot on the rock near the bird's head is unfortunate and distracting for me.

Love the idea you were going for here and could see so many possibilities. The location of the head simply isn't working for me. Do you have any similar images with the puffins head in a different part of the frame?

I really like the environmental captures, and this scene has so many possibilities.

I like the idea Sandy. I think you could give it a bit more pop with some processing work - lift the shadows a tad, maybe some fine sharpening and a bit of saturation to elevate the reds.

I just love the idea of this shot. Cool composition. Original. I would consider toning down the brightess of the rocks a bit.
