Great silhouette, looking very similar the Kakadu promotional poster sometimes seen...minus the big red sun.....certainly eye catching against the different hued backdrop

Tom -

This is a great silhouette. Specifically, I like that you can see all of the extremities (including outstretched wingtips, legs, head) very clearly. Really like the ruffled up feathers on the left wing as well. The texture (from the sky?) in the bg is a bonus too. Wouldn't change a thing

Hi Tom, a silhouette against a colourful BG always produces the goods, and that BG is stunning. Good placement of the crane in the frame too.

This is very appealing. Great shape to your silhouette, and the colours in the sky are fantastic...especially the that they are not uniform.

Lovely silhouette, and the varied sky really helps.

About as good a silhouette as they get.
The colors really do make it!

Excellent silhouette Tom. The pose is great, the comp is just right and the colors are gorgeous. Isn't the bosque magical?

Can't wait to get back there.

From memory I changed from AWB to 7000 or 7500 kal. This was a tip from A. Morris. I think I was standing next to him on this one. The sun had well a truly gone down and we were just getting the stragglers coming into the crane pond for the night. There was a small patch of sky that was still light and getting the cranes in the patch and before they dropped below the mountain horizon was a challenge.
