Wow! Cool bird. I like the bg, pose, and composition. It looks like a mutant Pileated Woodpecker.

That's one terrific woodpecker. Great color, perfect WP pose, nice detail. If you have it, a little more room on top and left might not hurt, putting the eye close to the ROT point. But a handsome image in any case.

What an amazing bird and very well captured! Great pose and BG with excellent exposure and detail!

I like the overall composition but I'd prefer add a little more room at the bottom to give the tip of the tail some "breathing room".

Cool looking bird. Nice look on his face. May tone down the tree bark a tad.

What a terrific looking woodpecker. If I recall correctly, you showed us the male last year.
I like the IQ and the composition.
Would add a bit more room below and I see a bit of a green cast in the white feathers. An easy fix for a great capture,
Gail

This is a terrific image with wonderful details, colors, sharpness, angle. Agree on more space (left and bottom). Strong green cast here evident in the whites. Look at your white feathers that you know are supposed to be white, and you will see that they are tainted green. Do a color balance layer and move your green slider toward the magenta until the image looks right.

Awesome woodpecker! Beaaaauutiful image. Tightness of the composition has been addressed already.
Perfect head angle, nice seperation between the bird and the tree. Details are sharp!

Wow, killer bird beautifully shot and brilliant colours Varun! I'd possibly tone down the green b/g a tad - it's a bit fluoro!
Cheers, Greg

Hi Varun, great IQ, light and details, and overall nice and sharp too. Love the colours on the wing, and agree on seeing a touch of green cast. I would only add to the bottom.

"Hellooooooo Beautiful!" - is what I would probably say if I were the male of this species. Great capture.

I agree with Gail and Marina about the green cast, and it's an easy fix. A bit more room on the bottom for me as well. I enjoy the shot tremendously and think those two changes would put it over the top. I look forward to seeing a repost!

Am not really good at photoshop... this is what I have tried
I've added some canvas on the top...also have added some space to the bottom...toned down the perch...tried removing the cast...selectively sharpened and given a little bit of saturation boost to the bird...
You guys have to tell me how it is.....
and thank you all for your kind and encouraging words.....
