This coucal was imaged few months back; while carrying eucalyptus leaves to its nest.
I had camera setting for flight shot. This frame is just before takeoff. Cropped and sharpened.
Two branches on RHS are removed and two bright spots at bottom were darkened.

ISO: 400, 1/3200 @ F: 5.6.Evaluating metering. Exposure bias: +0.3.
White balance: Auto. HH. Canon: 550D, 400mm.

Thanks for viewing and appreciation. C & C are highly appreciated.
Kind Regards.

Satish-

Nice exposure on this image for the blacks. Good detail in the feathers, and the red in that eye really pop out.

You have a nice pose from the Coucal, with even the feet showing real well. I could find myself distracted by the branches on the right, but it's not anything I would consider cloning out. All in all, it's a great capture!

Ah! A Bharadwaj (?) on Nilgiri (?). Very nice composition, details, exposure and light. Some NR on the BG and you're good to go Satishji. Did you blur the BG?

Very nice shot.
Great pose, love the leaf in it's beak, great background, and nice comp.
A little more seperation from the twig with leaves would have been nice. It's a minor nit.
Still a terrific shot.
Well done.

Hi Satish, you certainly have exposed this fellow well, and a good behavioural shot of him doing his house work. I agree, some work on the BG wont harm this. Our Coucals have more white on their fronts, but do have that trade mark red eye.

Very nice image Satish, I agree a bit of NR is needed on the BG, image seems a little 'gritty' Otherwise a lovely capture.

Hey Satish,
Great advice above on the NR work on BG. I am fine with the bird. If within your ethics.....I would consider eliminating the 3 leaves on the LH side......but very good details and exposure with interesting behaviour.

I agree with the above comments re: NR on BG. If mine,
I would clone out the 3 leaves on the RHS.

The bird looks nice and the action tells the story, Satish. The noise was mentioned.

Aside from maybe needing a bit more noise reduction to the backdrop.......this really appeals to me Satish, wonderful light in this and so sharp and even dof.....love mostly the interaction with the eucalyptus leaf
