Shooting hummingbirds is always fun. It reminds me of playing video games.. Very tough customers to shoot in flight even if you have a setup.

Canon 5D Mark II.
Canon 500/F4.
ISO500.
F-14.
Shutter Speed 1/160 on tripod.
No flash.

Rajesh-

Nice capture of all three. I think the one on the left would make for a good photo by himself, too.

The background compliments the birds well, but I may consider toning it down just a bit so that it doesn't compete too much.

Hi Rajesh, good choice of aperture, as all three are in the DOF. I do like the green iridescence on all three, and the water droplets on the plants is a nice touch. Did you add water as this is a set up? I like the image design, but am finding the overall BG a touch over powering.

Hey Rajesh,
I wish there was a touch more room up top but unlike the others.....I am OK with the BG. Maybe a sliver off the left....but given how difficult this is.....you did extremely well!

I love the colours on this image and the DOF which has rendered the three Hummingbirds in focus.

Hi Stuart.. Thanks for the post.. Yes it was kind of setup in the field with sugar water on the flowers...

While I can see the point of toning back the backdrop for the sake of bringing more attention to just the three birds....I think overall it's an eye catching and vivid marvel with lots of WOW factor. Myself I would cover the whole backdrop with the pink to remove the greenish section on the top left { I'm so envious of countries that have Hummingbirds ...certainly none here in Australia }

Hi PhilCook, thanks for your comments. I am from India and we don't have Hummingbirds anywhere here. I travelled to cost rica for this..
