Bufflehead flight photo.
A head turn would be nice but they fly too fast to do that I think.
The bands on the body are light reflections.

Magnificent image.Very nice pose with nice details and wing position.
Love the colors, especially pinks on legs, tiny water droplets and composition.
Would drop at the bottom.

Excellent dynamic shot, Dan. I don't see many images of these guys in flight, probably because they are so very fast. I just love the view of those paddle feet, and the fanned out tail. Also like the striated water and the hint of reflection, and the pink against the blue. Super image.

Dan:

Lovely, and as Melissa mentioned, you don't see a lot of these guys in flight.

The feet are spectacular, nice to get enough light on the face to show one eye fairly well and a bit of green color.

Silvery blues of the water work well with the bird.

The comp works well for me, little off centered, with room to land.

Cheers

Randy

Hi Dan, Im not familiar with these guys, so if you say they are fast, then I believe you. :w3 I like the incoming pose with the wingspread and hanging feet. With regards to the colours, love the hint of green on the head, and those pink feet look good. If anything, I would take a touch off the top.

Dan, lovely capture with great timing and framing. I'm not sure I would change a thing, to be honest. Nicely done!

I do not think you needed a head turn here, it's perfect for the incoming flight pose you have. Love those feet, I did not realise they were so big! The spread tail looks great too. Beautiful image Dan, and not easy to pull off.

Gotta love those feet and a nice dynamic pose. Great detail and exposure looks good too. I assume it is reflective lined from the water but I find my eyes being drawn to the horizontal lines across the belly and tail

The fully deployed landing gear is an exceptional part of the image.
Techs are spot on. Would not change a thing. A very sweet flight image of this species sir.
