Hi Sandy...you have a nice start on this Bufflehead. I think you can
improve the photo immensley by a little more post processing. The
image looks a little dark to me, so I would start with that. Then work
on the whites, they look a little grey to me. Then maybe work on the
cropping to get the little guy out of the middle.

Hi Sandy,
Great to see you posting and welcome to BPN!
Sweet little duck and you have shown the iridescence very well. I like the bow wave.
Good body angle.
Doug has given you some excellent advice.Maybe a bit of CW rotation?
Was this a big crop as you seem to have lost some feather detail?

Yes Gail the crop was a lot more than i hoped for, the Buffy was so far away, they are very "skittish"as i am sure you know.

Still have to work on my "PP'.

Thanks Doug, i have a terrible habit of centering my subjects, old habits die hard!

I see this is your first image post...so welcome to BPN!!

These sure are skittish in my parts too...I do remember ever being less than 40-50 yards away from one. I like that you got the colours on the head nicely, and the little guy is aligned perfectly parallel to the sensor. The big crop is showing on the IQ of the image, and I agree about de-centering the subject.
