Would have loved if the tail hasn't gone behind the stone. Thought to keep it because of the stare.

Saptagirish:

Great stare, the tail shows well enough that it is a non factor for me. The side lighting gave you nice depth to the plumage, smooth bg.

Overall, a very pleasing image.

Congrats

Cheers

The tail is a non issue for me too, Girish. The killer IQ, stare and over all setting more than make this work.
I'd move the bird just a bit more to the left.

Cool bird! I like the pose, bg, and two eyed stare. The perch is cool too. I'd considered cropping a bit from the right.

Super image well focused and exposed love the pose and position. The stone behind the tail is no consequence whatsoever for me, it is however very easily dealt with using a Quick Selection> Refine Edge> Edge Detection> Smart Radius and View Mode >Show Radius - may sound complicated but it isn't.

Hi Saptagirish,
I really find the stare captivating. It draws me into the image.
The tail behind the stone is no big deal and I don't think I would have evn noticed it had you not mentioned it. What beautiful light you have in India. I never shoot here in Canada less than ISO 400 and usually 800 to 1600.
Jonathan- I think Sapta was referring to the rock IN FRONT of the tail,
Gail

Yes, the tail is a non-issue, I think. The stare and twirl of the head is great. Agree with Jim about slight crop from right.

really liked this shot...eye level, well exposed, lots of details, nice BG...well done.

No issues with me on the tail either because that stare took my attention. I really like the environment and the colors as well.

Very nice looking bird and well captured. The grey color with the beaming yellow eyes are great. Techs look very nice and I too think the rock is a non issue. Well done

Nelson Mena Alfaro, No, it is not captive. These birds are winter migrants to India.

beautiful image loved the colours and bg but the main attraction is the eyes.
