Black-and-white Warblers commonly nest at the Prairie Garden Trust and they tend to show up early.
I photographed this one singing along a rocky bluff in early April. I used my iPhone to pull him in with song.

Canon 1Ds Mk3
Canon 600/f4 + 1.4 X teleconverter
Speed: 1/800th
Aperture: 6.3
One Shot AF
Aperture Priority with +2/3 Exposure
ISO 800

Worked up in Lightroom and Photoshop.

Cool! Would it be possible to pull the highlights down to get more detail in the whites?

Such a handsome warbler! Great singing pose. The feet show very well, which I'm digging about this frame.
Compositionally, a consideration could be trading some space at the bottom for some space at the top....in terms
of space for the projected song to travel in the mind's eye...

Nice singing pose on this one. Wish for a thinner perch.

I really like the bird, one I have never seen.
The pose is really nice, agree that the perch is large but not overpowering.

This is a lovely shot.
I like the singing pose and the smooth BG.
Compositionally (is that even a word?), I would take some off the bottom to reduce the impact of the perch and add the same amount back to the top of the frame.
I would also reduce the magenta in the perch by -1,
