At the Bosque, a group of Cranes was standing in an irrigation ditch in the fading light of the day. I focused on the birds, waiting for one of them to turn its head so that the last rays of sunshine would catch it just right. Happy holidays to everyone!

Hi Doug, Firstly, congrats on your 10000. Its quite a milestone, and may you go on to many more. Thanks for all the great work you do.

Secondly, I really like how you have played with the light, and how it has outlined the shape of the back of the crane. Also there is enough light to show up the remainder of the crane against the shadows. Well timed to capture the HA too.

Thirdly, Happy Holidays to you and your family. Be safe during the festive season.

Doug, you know I loved this one when you took it, and it looks great here. I want to go back to that irrigation ditch next year before our workshop. Can you arrange for that crane to be there?

Cheers,
Greg

Hi Doug,
This is a lovely, dramatic theatrical image, full of mood and drama.
the head and body angle are perfect.
I can just imagine how great this would look printed in a large 20'' + image.
Congrats on 10000 and Merry Xmas to you and yours,

Doug:

Sorry to be so late to the party, the flu got me!

Very dramatic lighting, dark and thoughtful, very striking.

Because of the darkness, the room for the 'virtual legs' is less important for me, and I could see a version cropped tighter from below, esp for the small web size. Printed large, probably not as much of a factor.

Again, congrats!

Cheers
