Hi all... have not been active on BP.net for a long time... been hectic lately... well I thought I should post an image before Christmas.

This is my macro Christmas present. I was blessed to have found this jumper at my in laws in Magoebaskloof. I have never seen one before and is the most beautiful jumper I have ever seen. What was also interesting about this critter was it's eye colour would change constantly as he turns his eyes (retina reflections)... in the image you can see the right eye is busy changing... also love that red marking between the eyes.

Crits and comments always welcome.

Would like to wish all my BP.net family a Merry Christmas. Thank you for all the wonderful comments and views over the year. Thank you for all your wonderful images that you post... they are always a great inspiration! Be safe and God bless!

Jason this is a gem, the focus and DOF are both excellent. I really like the range of greens and those eyes, glad I am not a little aphid! The raised front leg really adds to the image, one to be proud of! Happy Christmas I think you earned it!!

Marvelous image with great colors, detail & interest. It looks like it was putting something in its mouth with one of its middle legs. Was it eating something?

Hi Jason. I love the eye-level viewing angle - and those eyes are amazing! I have not seen another spider with eyes quite like this. Excellent exposure, background, and sharpness within the narrow DOF that this lens offers. The raised front leg adds interest. Outstanding work!

This is really a kick butt macro image, Jason. Sharp where necessary and very powerful.
