What sunrise. I felt like Frodo while watching the Eye of Sauron.

I find this to be quite a powerful and ethereal image. While your FG is quite powerful, the BG is also strong enough to hold its own. Well seen and executed.

dramatic light and good scene here Gabi!
I like the view over the clouds.

The foreground lighting on the front of the rock and the lower right corner bugs me a bit - did you use a flash or other external source of lighting? Given the placement of the sun they should have been more shaded?
I also think the composition is a bit left-heavy. Having the sun and rock - your 2 strong elements - on opposing sides would have balanced it a bit more.

Let's see some more! :5

Thanks for your critique Morkel. Yes I use the camera flash.

Hey Gabi,
I think just toning down the LR side to match the tone of the rest would be the final touch to a very dramatic and well composed image.

Gabi,

I see what Morkel means on the left side being so heavy. The image does not balance well is both the rocks and the sun on the left side. diagonally placing them in the composition relative to each other would have been a better strategy. I am sure you have additional compositions for this vantage and hope you will be posting them.

I to would suggest toning the FG down a tad - though I do like all the detail the flash brought out. Almost HDR w/o having to process for it.

Thanks a lot Robert for your comment. I see now what I can improve. This is my first landscape photo and next time I'll try also other compositions.
