Little Estero several weeks ago, just before sunset. I know a bit of head turn would have added to this, and I do have some frames of him in good light with better HA, but without the ripples. I went for the ripples.

The light and the ripples, and of course the bird make this a very pleasant image, Bill. I have seen only one of this species.

Good choice, I like the glistening ripples too. They really make the shot beautiful. Love the last light look and and the subject is sharp and well exposed. Great frame. TFS

Have to love the ripples catching the light in this, maybe a bit smaller in the frame/less crop would slightly improve to take in all the ripples, presuming it was cropped. Sweet shot Bill, very big in the cute factor

That does look like last light for sure! Love the glow on the bird and especially the golden ripples in the water. The dark BG works very well. I do wish for a better body angle on the subject though....

Beautiful light, ripples, and good use of DOF.

I can see why you went for the ripples Bill - just takes the image up another notch IMO. beautiful little plover and I guess she/he is admiring the sunset and hence no head-turn :S3:
