Took this shot at a Feeder set up, I barely touched the bird but the background I ended up almost hand painting half the background to remove the branches.

I beginning to get a lot more out of the 7D, after buying it I was heavily disappointed but after using it for the last few months I am pretty happy, though I wont complain if the next ones is better.

A beautiful shot! The background is perfect.
It seemed a bit dark to me so I brightened it in Photoshop.
On the levels adjustment layer I protected the highlights of the face, throat and neck so that they would not clip.

This is a lovely capture of the Nuthatch Corey - excellent feather detail, well exposed for the whites, attractive perch and you have done a reasonable job on the BG though some tell-tale signs evident. Some posterization noted bottom RH corner. Your original post looks best on my monitor.

Without offending anyone, I must say that I like the original better. Great picture, Corey.
7D is a great camera if the light is good and you can keep it below ISO 800.

Nice detail in the bird, nice perch and nice job on the BG. Also seeing some posterization on the BG, maybe from jpeg compression. Nice image! TFS

I think its Jpeg compression I lowered it to 60% to post here, also the spots it showing up are the areas I didn't touch.

Killer sharp with a nice BKGR. Best to set up your perches against clean backgrounds. Henry's version is too light for moi. But his effort is appreciated.

Thanks Authur, I had perches out but the birds never do what you want and the one I like the best needs some clean up. I should of pointed out that I a visual effects/ 3d artist so removing a few things does not take me long.

I also like the original, repsot is too contrasty. Nice details and BG.

Next level up is to setup a beautiful perch with some decoration as Artie suggested.
