Classic scene with nice tones.
1. I would have liked the tree to be 'containted' by the dune but understand that you may have been at the max extension of your tripod.
2. I tend to prefer these in the landscape format to show more of the space and the dunes, even if there's only one tree. Somehow the feeling of the wide open desert is lost on me when composing like this. Still a nice image...:t3

Thanks Morkel, I agree with you about the branch sticking up but unfortunately it didn't bother me at the time or I didn't notice it. :e3

Thanks again and nice to have you back,
Rachel

I agree with Morkel that the tree is perhaps a bit too dominant in this image. But the concept of the tree against the dune is good. I like your approach here.

Hi Rachel, the image looks great as well the colors. As it is over there. To get the branch of the tree in the dune, you probably need to take a little chair along. I have seen it, but but... I am to short and no one was there to play chair for me :))
so I took all the images as you did or found another solution here and there.
worked in a few cases, but not all.
But would have given anything for a chair :))))
ciao Anette

Thanks Anette, when do we get to see some of your shots from there?

Hi Rachel, right now I made my way 1/3 from behind the moon with my clarity. Yep have found what I was searching for, or better said I believe so :2eyes2:
When I reached the 2/3 or 3/3 than I will post some again. Sorry for that, but it is lots of work, a such fat book, so many numbers and my head spins :eek3:

Good observations above.....on top of vehicle next time?

Thanks Anette and Roman. Roman - to get to where the trees are you need to leave the vehicle in the parking area and hike in 1-2km. So no vehicle to stand on :w3. Also not a particularly fun hike/walk with lots of gear, deep sand and blowing wind/sand.

Thanks again,
Rachel
