Finally have some spring growth here in Michigan. I found this old weathered snail shell and placed it on this newly sprouted skunk cabbage leaf. Had some side lighting help from the sun.

Nice bit of lighting Mike on the sanil-shell revealing good texture and pattern.
The leaf design in BG also works for me. I've been trying to make up my mind about the shadow cast by the shell - interesting triangular shape but I think perhaps a ltlle more shadow-detail would do it for me!!

Beautiful Mike, very simply but strong. The composition is well thought out with the long shade of the snail. Also the contrasting white on green works well. IMO the contrast as presented is just perfect, I think more shadow detail will make it look too flat.

Awesome mike, text book ROT and the diagional looks great. Like the lighting and the leaf vein patterns.

Sometimes snails hibernate, the shell looks lifeless like this one, but it you look inside there is a plug hiding the snail.

Hey Robert I didn't know that, I'll have to pull it out of my photo vest and take a look.

Side light works great here bringing a lot of definition to the plant and shell. Well done!
