This obelisking Eastern Amberwing was backlit so I decided to shoot without flash to see what I'd get. I can't say the colors look completely natural but I like the result.

Cropped, flowers to the left and right cloned away, SH, NR (Neat Image) on the BG, high-pass and smart sharpening.

Hi Ken. You have a striking image here! The backlighting makes for a very nice effect, the obelisking pose is great, excellent overall sharpness, nice comp, and a clean background. I wouldn't change a thing. Excellent work!

This is wonderful! The posture, spread of the wings and all round details...........work very fine.
Thanks for sharing.

Very nicely done Ken. I find dragonflies normally obelisk facing away from the sun. I usually use fill flash to counter the resulting shadows but it looks like this subject was nicely lit even with the backlighting. Good call shooting this as is. Lovely image.

I like the shot and the pose, equally I like the colours however I think it is a little over exposed and it makes me curious to think what it would like with a little less exposure, especially on the flower.

A stunner overall... comp, detail, angle, exposure, and bg are all spot on... super shot... WD Ken!
