This young American Dipper had already learned how to dive for recently spawned salmon's eggs at the bottom of the stream. What I really like about this image is that it was shot with the 70-200, literally at arm's length. That's how trusting these guys were.

Shot during the October salmon run at Gribbell's Island, BC, while waiting for Black and Spirit bears to show up (Chas Glatzer's Shoot the Light workshop).

Canon 1DX, Canon 70-200 II, 1/500 @ f/4, ISO 1000.

Love this. Great pose and perch, and the water's texture and colour are certainly highlights of this image...and for that I am glad you opted for a higher perspective here.

Superb image, Ignacio! I didn't know they ate salmon eggs!

Great moment captured. The pose is nice so is the fish egg in the beak. I find the the yellowish background is too bright and is taking attention away from the bird. I would tone it dow just a bit, including the rock.

Lovely photo Ignacio. Really nice water background (maybe a tad bright). Nice IQ and moment captured.

Couldn't ask for more in this shot, love the egg in the beak and such a wonderful molten gold sheen to the water...just beautiful

Thank you all. Agree that the very bright water steals the show a little, but attempts to tone it down don't seem to look OK. I guess in this case the water is as much a subject as the bird...
