Image was taken at Fort Desoto North Beach. Canon 40D handheld. 100/400L @ 400 mm - ISO 400 - 1/790 sec. - no flash - exposure bias +_o - metering pattern. This bird seemed not to mind humans as there were five or six photographers working the area. This was one of about 50 images I took.

i like the slight red reflection of the beak in the water and the smooth brown feathers have details in them. A small hot white spot above the leg is noticed, but overall, nice.

Nice action. Agree about the hotspot and would like to see a lower angle...

Nicely done, Michael, wish you had gone a little lower and for more room at the right. Good exposure and sharpness.

:Thanks for the kind comments. I'll be 72 in July and although a lower angle is possible, getting back up can be a problem!
