The perch is quite heavy, I admit, but it is a natural, field image (Not a set up) and I feel that is has some character. Let me know your opinion.

Thanks,

Excellent sharpness and details. The pose is different form the usual classic Nuthatch pose, wich is good. The perch is a bit heavy as you mentioned but looks nice with the peeling bark. Nice work, Grace.

What an adorable bird, Grace. Lovely light and details. Great perch and BG.

The perch might be heavy from a critics standpoint, but I think it looks rather natural, given that nuthatches tend to creep around tree trunks and large branches all day long anyway. ;)

Great shot. Seems like a less-common pose for a nuthatch, they always seem to have their heads out and pointed "up" when I see them. I think the perch does have a little character, although it also seems to highlight the harshness of the lighting as well...

Nice capture with a great lighting, sharp feather details, and nice background. Yes, the perch might be a little big for the bird, but it seems like Nuthatches like to hang around in these type of thick branches (and store their food in the cavities).

I like the layering and different textures of the perch. A tighter crop would make the perch look bigger, so the crop you chose is perfect. Great pose too.

Hi Grace, as I have large perches at one of my favourite locations, Im fine with the perch, and its even curved nicely too. Placement of the nuthatch works, and the little guy is sharp, posed against the smooth BG.

A lovely sharp image of this Nuthatch Grace caught in a cute pose. The perch, though large, shows some great texture.

Cute little chickadee, light and detail and pose is all very nice. Personal tastes possibly but I'd be inclined to crop heavier to remove more of the bark on the left of the branch

This is a pleasing image. I'd award extra credit to non-setup shots.

Nice Shot,Grace.I am also a believer in photographing in Natural setting's instead of Backyard setups and using Audio's OR bait's to lure the subjects.Well done.

IQ is superb.
I like the fluffed up pose and the slightly raised wing.
Great BG and perch is fine- the curve in it plays down the size,
Gail

Yes the perch is a bit over-powering , but as a natural field shot it works very well. Great details and spot on exposure. Love when they puff up as this one has done.

Very nice shot.
I really like the pose, wonderful background and light. I really don't mind the perch due to the way it curves.
Very well done.
