Very nice to get this bird out in the open. I love the yellow colors in the background repeating the yellow in the bird. Good composition. I would love to have this one.

This is a nice first post. I like the diagonal line created by the stem.
Strong composition and great colors in the BG.
Good IQ in the bird as well.
I might do a bit more NR on the BG and decrease the magenta by a point,
Gail

Great composition! I agree with Gail on running selective NR and desaturating the magenta a bit on the background.

Outstanding capture of a Golden-crowned Kinglet, with the crown so visible. Beautiful autumn colors in the bkgd and great composition with the plant stem.

Did a noise reduction on the BG but couldn't find any magenta in the photo
so I messed around with the reads in selective color,
then shuffled around in curve. It now looks different but I still prefer the original photo. Thanks.

I prefer your original, also, Tim. I'm not seeing an unnatural magenta. Love the sharp little bird and interesting perch. Even the webs add nicely. I'd love to have this image as my own. Looking forward to more of your work.

I agree Tim, I also prefer your original post. I love this little bird posing in its environment and beautifully enhanced by the warm tones of the BG.

Great photo, Tim! I like the colors, and how the BG colors match the birds colors. I agree the OP is better. To Gail's point, toning down magenta might be easiest in Lightroom (if you have it or can get a copy). The Tint slider in the Develop module would allow you to tweak the Green/Magenta color axis very easily...dropping it by one or two points would result in a very subtle change, but potentially result in the perfect color balance by adding just a touch of warmth.

Hi Tim, a big welcome to BPN, and look forward to your participation. Love the angled perch, light and colours, and I do like the detail on the little fellow. I prefer your OP.

A super shot of this species Tim. I am sure this gal (looks like a female from this angle) didn't sit there for more than a half second. I am fine with the OP because the bird is true to colour.
