Had a chance to go out this AM, and my favorite swan flew in with his family. This first year juvi has this amazing bill, yellow/orange feet, and his coloration overall is quite light, more adult than juvi.

D4 600mm f/5 1/500s Manual exposure fill flash with beamer

Post: Added sliver of canvas at top, selective sharpening, removed lower catchlight from flash.

Besides the bill, I liked the delicate cloud like effect in the BG (it is actually water)

Advice and comments always appreciated.

Cheers

Randy

Love the high key look. Even with the bright BG I think this works well as it accentuates the cool bill. Exposure on the whites looks great. TFS

I like the "head in the clouds" feeling to this.
Whites look great and a very interesting bill.
I wish for a bit more DOF for the neck. Very nice image.

Very nice work on this one, Randy. Delicate is how I would describe this capture. Nice use of fill and I like the details of the small water droplets, the BG and the unique beak.
