Hi Arash, excellent exposure on the BE, the feather detail shows up so well. Good flight pose with the raised wings, sharp, and I do like the curved remains of the salmon.

I've seen shots like this before, but yours, in addition to being technically perfect, is quite artistic as well. The curved salmon leavings are quite beautiful, and it's wonderful that the fish blends so prettily with the background. If you look at the picture from top to bottom, it's a real treat for the eyes. Venturing into the world of the inexplicable, as often happens when one looks at a well-rendered painting, there is something about the eagle's shape blending into the shape of that curved fish makes my brain say YES YES YES. Really quite splendid.

Knockout shot the wings and the salmon make a reverse S curve and I think this is one of the reasons the image is so strong. As ever the techs are spot on.

The flight is perfectly captured with the catch.

The vertical image for such a flight is amazing , personally i would have never thought of capturing flight vertically , you just opened a avenue for me mate.

This was actually cropped from horizontal, handholding super telephoto rig is best done in horizontal orientation.

Amazing clarity and I don't think I ever seen better exposure on an Eagle as this is.
Over the top!
Oh, and looking at the beak, I think this is a female.
It is easy to notice when you see a pair together, but that is a large very yellow beak, so
That would be my guess.

Hey Bill, what you see is straight out of RAW with Canon DPP except for cropping into vert.

We got lucky it was overcast, with sunlight it will be tough to get this much detail in both whites and darks. The reflected light from snow helps a lot too with under wing details. Overall the light conditions at this location is best for eagle photography, as Jim had wisely chosen.

the other key factor here was manual exposure, indeed many photographers had difficulty with their exposure mostly because they were using modes other than manual.
