Something minimalistic from some earlier travels to the African bush.
On a game drive in stormy weather I captured this.

Your thoughts are appreciated...I often go for minimalistic compositions like this.

Hi Morkel - I like the comp with the three trees and the sky adds a lot too (but for me not very minimalistic). The conversion works well. I would have perhaps stopped down more for greater dof. I'm curious as to how you decided on f5.

Rachel

Thanks Rachel. By "minimalistic" I should have used "simplistic" because what I meant was the layered approach with only a few distinct elements, as opposed to a busy/jam-packed landscape.
I also don't know why f5. Wasn't thinking at the time probably...

Hi Morkel, I like your basic comp and feel the sky has enough interest to command that amount of space. I too feel the conversion is well handled but would of gone for more sharpness throughout. There have been times I thought I was on F16-22 and after a period of time realized I wasn't...

I like the composition and the sky has a lot of interest. Good job on the conversion. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who doesn't watch their settings 100% of the time!

Hi Morkel, I like the conversion and the placement of the trees as well as the big sky. I do wish the left-most tree had a little more separation from the grass in the field as the other two trees do.

Hey Morkel,
Back after 2 weeks of power outages and speaking gigs. You must have been hunting wildlife at f/5 :) A bit sharper and this would have worked with some minor tweaking.

Thanks guys.

Roman - yes indeed the settings were set up for some action :e3.
Which "minor tweaking"? :t3
