I love these bears. Lovely image, Ross.
1. I wish it was mine
2. Some of the bright spots in the BG look blown? Not sure if you can recover it from RAW perhaps?
3. I do feel the image is slanting a bit to the LHS - with the low angle one expects the waterline to be somewhat level in the immediate FG despite the diagonal flow of the river?
4. Lovely IQ for high-ish ISO on the D800...I am getting mine in the next 2 weeks and will put it to the test in the Kalahari...:bg3:

Ross, I second Morkel's comments about the waterline and the bright spots in the BG. I am not sure if you have the canvas available, but I would try to have more canvas on the left, if I could. Excellent image! I too wish it were mine. TFS

Great looking bear Ross and I am well jealous of your experience. The blue highlights in the water look at tad saturated/vibrant IMO though.

What a fortunate catch! Love the pose and the bears patient eyes. I agree with others on the whites in the background being a little harsh, and think it'd help to tone them down to pop the "spirit" (bear) up :w3
