With glorious light this particular morning made for some nice low level shooting from Johns microlight above the banks of the Luangwa River.

D700 70-200VRII f/6.3 ISO400 1/1250s @ 200mm. 30% crop, Nov 2011.

C & C most welcome

Cheers
Marc

great light indeed on this chap, Marc...and good timing to include the splashes...
was it startled by the microlight?
I always get fascinated by the scars on their bodies - the diagonal line of motion adds a lot here too.

Marc - an unusual pov and I agree with Morkel that the scars and splash enhance greatly. Nice light, sharpness and head turn too.

Hi Marc,

what a great image, the back of this Hippo, oh well, poor chap, but actually still lucky that it was able to escape.
Love the little turn of the head. I like the light and the water very much in this.

The first thing that I noticed here that really works is the diagonal line of your image. It works well, as does the splash. It's nice to see an image taken from a different angle as well.
