In keeping with the 800 & 600 II theme of the past few weeks I would like to ask what bag you folks use to fly with either of these fine lenses.

Think Tank Airport Security for sure, and possibly the Airport International as well.

Hi Pao,

The Kiboko 32L.

Peter,

I thought your favourite bag was the Schipol "Buy and Fly"?

DIY idea: dense foam pipe insulation, wrapped in a cylinder with inner diameter slightly bigger than lens. Circle of foam at bottom, circle for the top. Duct tape the h---out of the longitudinal seam and the joint between the bottom and the cylinder. Have velcro straps on the cylinder side to reach over the top circle (plug) for access. Then you have a sturdy cushion that you can insert into a standard (non-photo) daypack.

Would that I had such a problem :bg3:

Thank you all for your suggestion. Ideally I would go with the roller bag but the airlines I fly with all have a restriction of 15lb/7kg.

Has anyone tried or considered the Think Tank Photo Airport Accelerator (http://www.thinktankphoto.com/products/airport-accelerator.aspx)? It came out May 2012.

Kiboko 32l, at airport I attach it to a little trolly thing. Quite handy never had any probs with it. Last trip it's weight was around 20kg ! No one stopped me or weighted it! Love this bag. When in dusty area with windows open I just pull over the "rain jacket" worked fantastic in Namibia in very dusty areas. Can highly recommend it. By now Gura Gear brought out a new one. You might can get the Kibiko 32L on sale somewhere.

Oh! That explains it then! :tinysmile_shy_t:

Thanks for the tip! I fear it is about 2" too tight to fit a 800 into.
