FYI
Rob Galbraith as an update to the CF/SD flash card database with new cameras:

Canon EOS 40D
Canon EOS-1D Mark III
Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III
Nikon D300
Nikon D3
D200, D2Xs

Some of the speeds are unbelievable, the D300/D3 are up to 30 Mb/ps!!! (The MKIIIs are about 15-20Mb/ps)

For people not familar with memory speeds the old IBM microdrive speed demons topped out at about 2-4 Mb/ps!!

I still have one of those old clunkers in my bag too! I can't remember the last time I used it though. Amazing how far they have come with the speeds!!

Thats' good news. I don't see any specs for UDMA 300X cards yet. Does anyone know if the 300X UDMA will work in 1D Mark IIs?

Also, people should be aware that write speeds decrease as card near capacity. On 1D Mark IIs it also depends on how many files are on the card (not sure about other cameras). Here is some research I've done:

Hi roger,

All of the tops cards in the test are all UDMA spec and some 300X, but I dont think any of the canon's support it other than the 1DSMKIII.

Here is one from the RG review/test, the specs are in the small pull down menu you can access by pressing the little + next to the card name.

Lexar Professional 300X 8GB
Actual Capacity: 7632MB
Protocols: PIO, UDMA
