Made this shot last april in Sweden.
exif: ISO 800, 1/250, F6.3, -0.3 with canon 7D with 500mm F4 L IS and 1.4x converter handheld.

another shot of this bird is in the final stage of a photo competition, unfortunately the winner will be the pic with the most votes on Facebook and I could really use some votes, so take a look and if you like it I will appriciate it if you vote on it.
the price is a trip to photograph Golden eagles and if I win I asure you I will post some pics here. :S3:

Great eye contact, the transillumination of the far wing helps the rather flat wing profile, sharp, well exposed, brightness just right for an owl image.

Very nicely done Lesley. I would love to see this with a 16x9 crop as well.

Lovely flight capture and agree with Randy on the lighting of the far wing. Head is nice and sharp and I am enjoying the environment behind the bird and how well it suits your subject.

I agree with the wing, it's a pitty that its tail dissapears behind the other wing.
