The 2012 Winners were announced tonight and can all be seen at this link: http://www.nhm.ac.uk/visit-us/whats-on/temporary-exhibitions/wpy/onlineGallery.do.
My good friend and fellow photographer Larry Lynch won the Animal Portraits category with his alligator. What makes his image so unique is that he used all in-camera techniques to achieve the special effects of this capture and almost no post processing. The picture was taken at Myakka River State Park in Sarasota, Florida one night last summer with a Nikon D2X and a 80-400mm lens. Another example that it's not so much about the equipment.
What a pleasure and inspiration it is to look through all of the winning and commended images.
