Beautiful light on this handsome fellow, and a perfect turn of the head. The crop works for me, but I might also imagine just a little more room below and less on the top. You've got the eye pretty close to the ROT. There may be a hint of crunchiness on the neck feathers.

Hi Gail, good detail throughout, and I feel you have the sharpness spot on. Comp wise, I agree with Bill, a little off the top, and add a touch to the bottom, so we can see where neck feathers end.

With these type of portraits, I try and shoot vertical in camera. :w3

Very attractive bird and a pretty pastel BG.
A bit more of a vertical crop if you have would look nice.

I rather like the crop as is myself, lovely portrait and detail, especially like the pastel soft two tone backdrop

Nice details and exposure here, Gail. I'd like to see less room on top.

Excellent sharp portrait Gail. I like the two toned BG and soft colours. Suggested comp would work nicely.

Nice as is but a vertical crop showing more intimate closeness of the head, and not showing part of the body that is not lit, might have been better, Gail.

Nice Reddish portrait Gail. I like the complimentary BG color and the shadowing created by the light direction. I'd consider a crop off the top and right of the frame.

Nice portrait of our resident Reddish Egret. They are one of my favorites to shoot. I like that you got the plumage slightly raisd from the body showing nice details.

Wonderful shot.
I really like the shawdows in the feathers as it gives them some real good definition.
Wonderful background, great pose, and excellent details.
Very well done.
