Low Angled Flamingo

Nikon D4 600VR 1/2500s at F8 ISO200 EV-1. I had lots of fun lying on my belly and watching this beautiful flock of flamingo's feeding in front of me. They slow walked towards me and were totally oblivious of me lying there. Removed two flamingo's on the RHS.

What gorgeous light and a great tipping over pose. I love the water dripping off of him. I am torn, wishing both to see the flamingo closer, but also liking your image design as is. Does it hold up to a crop at all? I'd love to see that just for comparison's sake.

Hi Viv, love the soft light in this, and getting down and wet has paid off so well - excellent perspective. You have also exposed this so well, oodles of detail on the plumage, and the drooling water from the bill takes over the top. You know what, I actually like your OP between the two. :w3

Excellent image Vivaldo. I like the light, sharpness, water drops, low angle and clean BG. I agree with Stuart on a crop between the two but I do like the details that the closer crop shows.

I prefer the 2nd version; nice to see a close up on the water dripping down on the head of the bird. Some might complain about more space for the virtual legs, but I think because they are so long you'd have to add a lot of space and probably would throw the balance of the image off. Nice work.

Beautiful regardless of presentation. I feel it may need a slight CW rotation? At least the far bank is giving me that impression. The spot where the bird enters the water appears level. Hm.

I actually prefer the OP, but could see some off the top and left (but not as tight as the repost). Great low angle and water dripping off the bill and neck. I'd look into toning down some of the highlights on the face. I know it is wet, but I'm sure you can reduce those while keeping the wet look. I too could see some rotation needed.

I prefer your repost as well. It brings more attention to the bird and the great drops of water. It also took away from my eyes going right to the intersecting water line that I hardly notice on the repost. Very cool
