Arriving Miami Feb 23!

Hi,

My medically induced/total change of lifestyle sabbatical is over!

Tomorrow I head for Lord Howe Island, NSW, Australia, for a week of photography - finally!!

Then San Diego and Hawaii until 2/23/13 when Jackie and I fly to Miami.

We will be taking two months to drive from Miami Int'l :w3 to Everglades NP, Congaree NP, Great Smoky Mtn NP, New Orleans, Big Bend NP, Guadalupe Mtns NP, Carlsbad Caverns NP, Saguaro NP, and finally Tucson. Google says 3400 miles; 57 hours. I figure two months to cover 3400 miles leaves a lot of stopping time and shootin' time.

Since we are starting in Florida, this is the Forum - United States-Florida - to commence preparations and reservations.

All suggestions regarding "everything" appreciated, i.e., places to visit and for how long, what to see (Jak and me) and what to photograph (me! :S3: ), best places along the way for sunrises and sunsets, etc...........

Perhaps some of US might even share a coffee or more along the way.

Lightroom and CS6 are dusted off and I have started processing archived images. Looking forward to posting and becoming involved in BPN in the near future.

OK, Jay. There are loads of landscape opportunities in Arizona -- the state was made for the landscape photographer. It's no accident that we are the home of Arizona Highways magazine. From the Monument Valley and the Painted Desert in the NE part of the state through the Slot Canyons and the Grand Canyon as you head west, to Sedona as you head south and then Tucson and surrounds and the Bisbee area and then the Chiricahuas ... You'll have a great time.

Hi Jay, Lots of great landscape opportunities in the glades you can shoot sunrises in Flamingo and the ponds along the road to Flamingo are great for evening shots plus the hammocks if you do not mind getting out and mucking around. I really do not know of any good spots on the west coast for seascapes but the east coast has some nice beaches with limestone rocks Coral Cove and Blowing Rocks are the best. Further up the East coast you have Bathtub beach on Hutchinson island and Washington Oaks near St Augustine. Also plenty of nice lighthouses on both coast. February is a perfect time to be in the glades weather is not to hot and hardly any mosquitoes PM me if your interested in shooting together I always spend a couple of weekends in the glades during the winter and Coral Cove is 5 Minutes from my house.
