From my recent visit to Mesolonghi which is one of the best places in Greece for shorebirds. First time I manage to get close to this species so I am pleased with this image although eye contact could be better.
Canon 7D, 300 f/4L IS with 1.4x extender. ISO 400, 1/1250 sec, f/7.1, EV +1.33.
Comments are welcome and appreciated.

Great pose, nice low angle shooting and nice for- and background, Petros.

Hi Petros- I hadn't heard of that species before.

You have a great low angle here and beautiful foreground and background. Also you have caught the up-wing position perfectly. I would wish for a better defined face- the eye is not showing so well and the head is angled slightly away. I would remove the noise from the background.

Hello Petros: I like it, partly because the setting is so ethereal. Also like the water droplets on the bird's head. I'm not all that bothered by the details in the face - but I'm still learning what works and what doesn't. (gt)

Nice low angle, love the wing position...still see the noise though.

Very nice Petros! The wing position and low angle did it for me!

Congrats on getting this species. Great wing angle, and I love the silky fg/bg transition. I agree with your self-critique about eye contact, and yes to some NR on the BG.

A better HA and some NR to the BG would have put this over the top! Great wing extension, good exposure, and sharp. Love the low angle too.

Love the light, low angle, flat glassy water and soft bg . Would definately improve the image to run some NR on bg

Thanks everybody for your comments. The truth is that I had a frame with a perfect HA but it was not that sharp... I will do a round of nr to the background. I appreciate your feedback.
