Here's another shot of the daytime Barn Owl from the same burst "4fps :-( " This is cropped from 36mpx to 27mpx. I followed Steve Kaluski's great advice and added a B/W copy of the blue channel and selectively erased it to accentuate the wing back light. NR with Noiseware Pro, sharpened with USM. C&C welcome.

this one has a great pose but heavy noise reduction has smeared the feather details quite a bit...

I like it as is, I wish for a warmer feel but this one is great. You are so lucky with these guys!

Dan, I agree with Arash, unless this was a huge crop, you did not need NR at all in this photo.
The BG and the bird should not need any. I use no NR on the bird ever, even at
ISO 6400.
Nice eye contact and still I would love to have a daylight shot of this owl.
