Photogrpahed a few weeks ago, it was part of a small flock of about 15-20 birds (semis and leasts). Most of them were foraging but this guy stayed behind to perform some feather maintenance.

Canon 7D + 100-400L @340mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/250s., f/7.1, ISO 400 (settings histogram checked), natural light, handheld, slight rotation then corners cropped off, a few specks in the water patched out. Darkened pupil.

Exposure, pose, BG and sharpness are excellent, Daniel, but the comp of this one is not working too well for me. For me the reflection is overpowering the subject rather than complementing.

Sweetness! Love the quality of the rufous coloration on this one and the very fresh plumage.
I think everything works here...particularly enjoying the divide of reflected sky and earth in the
image...very balanced.

Very nice indeed. A new species for me! Love the still water and reflexion. Light is nice too. I see you shooted this guy at 340mm, where you inside a blind or are these birds tame?

Thanks all! Juan, many juvenile shorebirds tend to be tame and quite approachable when taking a low and slow approach. I was lying in the water for this image, no blind or camo.

Great colors and reflection. I would prefer to see the bird not so far to the left but I am not a fan of thatkind of crop except in a running or walking kind of pose. I like the loose plumage and great detail.
