Tripod Canon 7D Canon 180mm macro ISO 200 1/60 sec f11
This shot was taken at a nature reserve in Shropshire. I took some images this day with and without fill in flash - this was without as I had fairly direct light on the subject. Most damsels rest with their wings adjacent to the body but not so with Emeralds.
On reflection now I have seen it posted I would probably consider taking a little off the top and adding it to the base.

Hi Jon, placement and comp work for me in this, and you have captured and brought really good detail on this fellow. Great view on how they hold on.

I captured a dragonfly in flight yesterday, will post it soon. :w3

I also like composition as is and wonder if you added and subtracted as suggested if it would appear too centered. Well exposed, nice and sharp and diagonal is nice as well I wonder what the little specks are just behind the back legs and under the body.

Thanks Dave I think the specks are debris from unfortunate prey.
